Another trip to Wales. This time a little further round the coast on the Llyn Peninsula. We stayed at the cosy Merlin Cottage in LLithfaen. The weather was mixed, with the first 3 days full of hot sunshine and the second half of the week more unsettled. From the cottage we were able to do a couple of walks without getting into the car, including the amazing hike up Tre’er Ceiri, Yr Eifl and Garn For. Hard work on the legs—especially for Kathryn just a week after her marathon. Around LLithfaen we also did the less strenuous Nant Circular and visited the heritage centre and Welsh Language School. We also walked from Nefyn to Porthdinllaen, stopping off, of course, for a drink at the famous Ty Coch Inn. Another great walk (in the rain) saw us stroll along the lovely beach at LLanbedrog and a steep climb to see the Tin Man. Later in the week we were joined by the fabulous Bill and Alison who travelled 4 hours from Cardiff to join us for a few days. It was great to see them again and we enjoyed lots of laughter and alcohol as well as a lovely walk along the coastal path from Aberdaron. The living room in the cottage, for some reason, had an ensuite (the only facilities!) - handy when you laugh so much you nearly pee yourself! To top off a great week, we will never forget the warm welcome we got on the final night from the locals at the brilliant Tafarn Y Fic pub.
