Germany 2026

Another trip to Germany. This time on my own. A chance to practice my German and meet up with friends I hadn’t seen for over 35 years as well as meet up with all the usual friends over there. Based in Frankfurt, I spent a lot of time in Gelnhausen, my old Haunting ground, seeing people from my first year there in 1989 as well as meeting up with the young actors from Acting for Fun, who are now all adults with families of their own.

It was if 35 years hadn’t passed. Friendships were rekindled and the laughter was loud and continual. 10 days in which I ate far too much good food and drank far too much beer, Apfelwein and Schnapps. A big thank you to all those who put me up, shared their lives with me and made sure I had such a good time. Even my luggage not turning up couldn’t spoil the fun. Borrowed clothes and donated underwear ensured the party never stopped. Not sure my body could cope with another tour like this though!
