Lake Bled was our destination for this Christmas break. New flights from Manchester to Ljubljana allowed us to have a cheap 4 night stay in this wonderful place. We stayed in the Agenija Apartments just outside the centre. The weather was not so good for the first few days. We never got to see the mountains and there was some rain. However we still enjoyed ourselves having lots of walks and drinking beer or eating Bled Cake. The weather picked up in the last couple of days allowing us views of the lake from up high as well as affording us some snow for a wintry Christmas day walk.
The final full day saw blue skies and even some sunshine! The food was fabulous, the beer, refreshing, even repetitive chicken and cream cheese sandwiches tasted good, especially in the warmth of our studio, and the people friendly. So friendly in fact they took to stripping off naked and bathing in front of Kathryn! The Christmas market was a bit of a let down and the re-enactment of the tale of the sunken bell was a bit strange, but overall this was a very memorable Christmas!
