Another fabulous 3 weeks on Lanzarote. This time staying in an Airbnb for the first time. The location was perfect with sea views and sun all day on the balcony as well as 2 mins from the bus stop and Lidl! As always we split the weeks, hiring a car in the middle week. We needed to do a lot of walking as we had the upcoming ultra challenge to complete. We managed to do that, walking up to 20 miles on a good day, walking the coastal paths north and south. So much so I had to buy a new pair of walking shoes! It also meant we did a lot of daytime drinking as a cold 1.50 euro beer or two was always necessary at the end of each walk. We also managed to get in some good volcano walks including climbing Montana Blanca which had been on out list for some time. We climbed Volcan de la Corona, Pico Naos, Caldera Guiadilama, Caldera Gaida and Montana Negro as well as circling Montana Colarada and Volcan el Cuervo.
Las Cabreras was a fortuitous find enroute to Famara. We saw lots of interesting natural rock formations as well as lots of man made ones in the wine fields. A very relaxing holiday with lots of outdoor fun—not even the puncture on the second day of having the car spoilt it! We will be back. After all there are lots more volcanos to climb!
