Back to Sharm for some winter sun and some snorkelling—we were dying to try out our new masks. We stayed away from the coast in the St George Xperience Homestay. It was nice enough and suited us well as far as location was concerned. The weather was very warm and it was nice to be back in shorts and T-shirts. We walked every day in the morning, the furthest being 17km as a small prep for our ultra challenge in June. We saw some old sights that brought back memories and visited new ones. The hotel had 2 beaches—Sandy beach and Coral beach. We walked to both, snorkelling at coral beach. We finally got to go snorkelling at Ras Mohammed. It was a long boat ride out there due to the wind, but the snorkelling was amazing.

El Fanar beach proved to be a real hit. Lovely spot with a great reef for snorkelling. Definitely somewhere to use more often when we return….probably in a warmer month so that we can stay in the water for longer as it was a bit chilly!
