Our second Christmas visit to the Gambia with the kids. Only just made it as Thomas Cook folded in September and we had our flights booked with them. Managed to get flights with Royal Air Maroc though so we made it there.
Mustapha had arranged a taxi for us so we were able to stop and pick up water and change some money on the way to Palm Beach hotel. The holiday followed a similar pattern to the year before. Time on the beach and long walks to see Awa for fruit. This time Bintou invited the kids to go swimming with her so they went for a frolic in the waves together which was nice.
We also managed to meet a new guy who was to become our taxi driver. After causing an accident on the main highway we met Buba on the way to the strip. He took us to Tanji village where we spent ages in and amongst the fishermen and women. He also took us to Tanji village museum which we visited some 14 years earlier.
