So how do you improve on Sri Lanka? Well, you fly one hour and arrive in the Maldives. It really is the heaven that you expect it to be. The island we stayed in, Eriyadu, was 100m wide and 200m long and it is surrounded by an unbroken house reef which is just teeming with beautiful corals and fish - fantastic! The first photo shows the view from our bungalow - imagine waking up to that every day! We had our own beach! Then there's a photo of the bird that came by to fish in our private cove every day (don't know what it is) and some underwater photos - we went snorkelling at least three times a day! The underwater photos do not do justice to the colour and clarity that we experienced. Highlights of the snorkelling included our first octopus and swimming above a 6ft shark. There is also a picture of the island at the bottom which I downloaded from the Internet. The only negative to take away is that Kathryn has now got a taste for these expensive and exclusive paradise islands.......Â
