Our travels in India this time revolved around Goa and Delhi - and what a great time we had. As always the food was fantastic - both Indian and Tibetan cuisine, though the heatwave (over 40 degs) was hefty. In Goa we stayed at a cheap and cheerful hotel, 10 minutes walk from the beach. There were lots of restaurants within walking distance. We particularly liked Uncle’s Kitchen and the Tibetan restaurant for Momos, though you could beat the views from the beachside restaurant watching the sun go down whilst drinking a large Kingfisher.
The photos form the top show Kathryn at the Red Fort in Delhi, a busy street viewed from the Jamil Masjid. Then you can see our visit to the Mother Teresa home, Damien and Kathryn in the Sikh Temple and having a close shave. Below that you can see the Jamil Masjid, Chandni Chowk and the Jain temple we visited. At the bottom, the photos are of Goa, with locals enjoying the sea, Kathryn at our favourite beach shack - Reggie's, the tanker than ran aground at the end of the beach and the lady from Karnataka who was desperate to see us some jewellery.
The holiday may well be remembered for the extra week we stayed due to the Icelandic volcanic ash disruption to flights!
