This was an amazing trip. Two weeks to visit the sights with still time to enjoy snorkelling in the Red Sea!
The photos do not follow an order - we spent time in Cairo to sample the Pyramids, the Egyptian Museum and Islamic Cairo before flying to Luxor to explore the temples there. We then flew on to Sharm El Sheikh for the snorkelling at the Sonesta Beach Club.
From the top, the pictures show me and Kathryn in the Al Azhar Mosque, Cairo a great place to visit before we got lost (as usual) in the Khan al Khalili markets, then we have the temple of Karnak with all its pillars (remember the James Bond scene?) and Damien at Luxor Temple. A nice shot of Damien enjoying a Felucca ride along the Nile and Kathryn at the temple of Queen Hatsheput. The guy walking away from Kathryn is at the Valley of the Kings and then we have, of course, the Pyramids and Sphynx at Giza.
More temples follow - I don't know how many we visited on both banks of the Nile but we covered a lot of miles! Evenings were spent in Luxor on our hotel balcony watching the feluccas at sunset.
The photo with the long pier is the only photo of the beach at Sharm included in the Collage. We used to walk to the end of the pier before dropping into the crystal clear waters for some of the finest snorkelling to be had. By this time we had our own gear which enhanced the experience somewhat.
