Three weeks of colour and excitement, sights and sounds, smells and tastes and total peace - utterly brilliant!
From the top, photos show the first few days spent in Bangkok. There is the two of us (camera perched precariously on a wall) in front of Wat Arun, then we have the Grand Palace (in nylon trousers!), Wat Traimit with its 3m tall solid gold Buddha, a group of monks at a stall in Wat Pho - we must have seen all the Wats! Then there is a photo of the night life we enjoyed (here it was at Khao San Road). Strangely enough that's a photo of Damien in a Sikh Temple on the edge of Chinatown (where we predictably got lost in the narrow packed market streets).
We then flew on to Chiang Mai where Damien received a million flea bites on his thighs after riding on the elephant's head for a while! We also took time out for a raft journey and you can see a piccie of the paddy fields in the North of the country. There's also a picture of the partially ruined Wat Chedi Luang in Chiang Mai.
We then flew South to enjoy Thailand's fine beaches and islands, where we not only relaxed and enjoyed the peacefulness of it all, but visited different islands for snorkelling and exploring as well as nearly getting trapped in an underwater cavern whilst kayaking! We witnessed first hand the devastation of the Tsunami the previous year—particularly in Phuket.
The middle picture at the bottom should send you back in time to Christmas time watching James Bond on the TV........
