Two weeks in japan on a British Council funded visit to learn about the Japanese school system. It was February so it was pretty cold there. The school we visited (I went with Della Lawson) was our partner school Hokuto High School but we also spent time at Mukawa Junior High School. Both of these are in Nirasaki in Yamanashi Prefecture, a couple of hours west of Tokyo.
From the top the photos show a night out with the school where I got the reputation “Heavy Drinker!!”. There is one of us at a Karaoke bar and Sensoji the oldest temple in Tokyo. You can see me drinking Sake as well as the banner they made for my arrival at the school. There is also a photo of the lovely Nagai (the head of English) and his family—he had invited us for tea at his house. You can also see a photo of Mount Fuji which we could see form the train station. The neon signs are in Shinjuku where we stayed in Tokyo—the maddest place in the world. Below is a photo with Laura, the English Language assistant at the most surreal fun park in the middle of a forest in the snow. There is also a phot of one of the classes and some of the pupils cleaning up—something the pupils are responsible for.
