Our honeymoon. We flew to Las Vegas via Chicago, both flights delayed so we were pretty tired by the time we picked up our Mitsubishi Mirage from Alamo car rentals. We spent several nights at the Motel 6 near the airport. We spend a few days in Vegas, driving out to Red Rock Canyon and soaking in the sights and sounds of the strip. The highlight was definitely the helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon over the Hoover Dam. We landed in the canyon and had champagne and a BBQ lunch with some native Americans before flying back to Vegas. We drove to Barstow via Baker, the Mojave desert, and Kelso. We visited Rainbow Basin and some outlet stores. On our drive we went to the Sequioa National Forest, Lake Isabella. We travelled to the unbelievably hot Death Valley after climbing over 500ft over the mountains. We stayed at the famous Winnedumah hotel in Independence and enjoyed hot creek just south of Mammoth Lakes. We enjoy all the famous lakes in the area. En route to Yosemite we stop at Bodie ghost town which is surreal. We cross the Sierra Nevada's at 10000ft into Yosemite where we spend some time enjoying the national Park including mirror lake, climbing pothole dome and seeing Half Dome. Then it was on to San Francisco via Modesto. Had a few enjoyable days in San Francisco before dropping our faithful but very scratched car off.
At the top the photos show us in the Grand Canyon and below that it is Kathryn climbing pothole dome and some other photos in Yosemite, including Half Dome and Bridalvail falls. Belwo that are some photos of death valley and Mojave.
